After Rebecca Storm last year, I suppose many people wondered where we would go to surpass that memorable night. Well, Phil Coulter answered that question without any doubt. He was magnificent. He sang his well known golden oldies - The Town I loved So Well, Scorn not his simplicity, Carry them home, Steal Away and many more , responding to two standing ovations at the end and staying long into the night to sign autographs, be photographed and to mingle with the very appreciative audience. It was indeed a memorable night and the GAA hall, packed to capacity, beautifully decorated for the occasion and with superb acoustics gave everyone a night to remember.
Here are a few photographs from the night. Also featured is Geraldine Brannigan, Phils's wife and also a superb singer in her own right.
At the interval the prizewinners from the Sunflower Competition were presented with their prizes - the idea here was for each young person to nominate a charity for the prize money . A cheque was presented to the local St. Vincent de Paul Society also.
